We have a workshop at the foot of Mt. Ikeda in Gifu Prefecture, where we produce original clothing using the traditional Japanese fermented indigo dyeing method called "hontate seiaizome."

Graduated from the Department of Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. During his student days, he interned at a fashion brand in London. After returning to Japan, in pursuit of the essential aspects of clothing making, he learned the technique of "hontate seiaizome" established by the late Koichi Okawa. Aiming to create clothing that utilizes the healing properties of the original indigo dye, he established a studio in Gifu Prefecture in 2022 and officially began operations as "Aiwayu."

　He gained experience through his work as a clothing designer and dyeing various commissioned items using persimmon tannin dyeing. He has pursued a wide range of color expression and has proposed clothing and daily necessities that can be easily incorporated into people's lives, regardless of age or gender. In 2020, he mastered the technique of genuine indigo dyeing. He pursues the dazzling natural brilliance of indigo and durable dyeing that does not fade.
